    August 14,1958 - August 9,1996

    Longtime Department of Motor Vehicles registration chief, died Friday August 9, 1996 at Washoe Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was 37 years old, five days before she turned 38. She was born August 14,1958 in Hawthorne, to Ray Donald and Eleanore Bell Northern Wadey. Mrs. Howell was a graduate of Carson High School.

    Donna was preceded in death by her father Ray and brother, Jerry Yeoman. Among her survivors are her husband Kent Howell of Carson City, daughter Melissa Howell of Carson City, step-daughter, Tanya Stortz, her mother, Eleanor of Healdsburg, California; sister Susan Brown of Arizona; brothers, David Yeoman of Fallon, Richard Yeoman of Dayton and James Yeoman of Idaho. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

    Governor Bob Miller has extended his condolences to her family, saying, "Donna was a great leader by example, never hestitated to take on any task, great or small, to assist employees and the public." She was promoted to head the registration division in 1995 after a 16-year career with DMV. She was previously regional DMV manager in Las Vegas and assistant registration chief in Carson City.

    Funeral services were held at Walton's Funeral Home on August 12, 1996. She is survived by her husband Kent, who is a trooper and pilot with the Nevada Highway Patrol.
