  1. In loving memory of our CHS 1976 Classmate Jacqueline “Jackie” June Phoenix. Beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. Jackie lived a life of kindness and will always be remembered for her generosity to those around her. Jackie had a remarkable sense of humor and an infectious laugh that could make anyone smile and you could always count on her to be the first one out the dance floor at holiday functions. Jackie had many passions in life including fishing, singing karaoke, bowling, and quilting, but her greatest joy was raising her three (3) children and being a mother and grandmother. Jackie was a remarkable woman and person and was loved by so many around her that she will be missed dearly. Jackie was born in Schurz, Nevada, in 1957 to the late Myra (Cypher) McDade, and Leroy Jake Phoenix. She attended local Nevada schools and was a proud member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. Jackie’s love for her tribe was evident as she held various roles within the Tribe including serving on the Tribal Council and was the current Tribal Court Administrator at the time of her death. The Jackie Phoenix family invites all their family and friends to join them in paying respects at a viewing on August 24, 2011, from 3-6 p.m. at Ross, Burke, & Noble, a Cry Dance on August 24, 2011, at sunset at Jackie’s home located at 2591 Desert Flower Lane, Sutcliffe, NV. Funeral to be held on August 25, 2011, at 9:00 a.m. at the Nixon Gymnasium, Nixon, NV, with a traditional feed to be held after the burial services. Burial will commence at the Wadsworth Cemetery, Wadsworth, NV. The family wishes to extend gratitude to all those who have helped throughout this difficult time and ask you to remember Jackie through her favorite quote, “Live Life to the Fullest, Live One Day at a Time, and always remember to BE HAPPY!
